Boss Details
Behavior
Nobunaga acts much like a regular enemy, walking up to the player with a // tile, attempting to hit them and then backing up. Occasionally, Nobunaga will also summon in 2 enemies to help him out. Rarely, Nobunaga will also attempt to shadow dash through the player.
Nobunaga's primary gimmick is the light system. At the start of the battle, 3 random tiles will be lit up by a spotlight. Nobunaga cannot be damaged unless he is in a spotlight. When Nobunaga takes damage, the lights shuffle randomly around the arena. As the fight progresses, less lights will show up, with only 2 and one light remaining when Nobunaga reaches 66% and 33% of his health left respectively.
Nobunaga should be treated much like a standard enemy. Player's might find it hard to get Nobunaga to move toward the spotlights, especially when there is only 1 light left. Burst damage is the key to beating Nobunaga, as chip damage against him is generally ineffective due to the lights shuffling after he takes damage. Ranged weapons are the preferred way of dealing damage against Nobunaga, as Nobunaga's quick trait means that attacking with melee tiles is difficult to do without getting hit. Tiles that move enemies such as dragon punch or grappling hook, or tiles that moves the hero such as smoke bomb or mirror are extremely helpful as the hard part about Nobunaga is usually getting him to the light. If the player is concerned about getting hit by the shadow dash, they could stay near the corners of the map to avoid getting dashed though.
Corrupted Nobunaga
Nobunaga gains twin tessen, which functions similarly to his swirl. He also gets the corrupted wave which he will use from time to time. Similarly, he also gains curse, which shows up about as commonly as shadow dash so it's not anything the player should be immediately concerned about. His summon list is much larger now, including Kabukai and Shinobi. The fight also starts off with one less light, with the lights going to 1 at 33% health.
Corrupted Nobunaga biggest difference compared to his normal version is that he now has the aggro trait. This means that he will relentlessly chase after you after every tile usage. A benefit to this trait however, is that it is much easier to guide Nobunaga to the spotlights. Good usage of the player's special move and/or any movement tiles is key to not getting boxed in by Nobunaga. The player will also want to kill any of Nobunaga's summons as they are much more dangerous now, and can get in the way much more often.
