Boss Details
Behavior
Hideyoshi primarily attacks with 3 tile combos. These tile combinations are also the only way he moves, as instead of walking backwards, he instantly prepares the next tile combination as soon as he's done executing the previous one. Aside from his 3 tile combinations, he may also summon some enemies to assist him. While these enemies can block some of his attacks, they should be killed as soon as possible due to them changing where his movement tiles put him and Hideyoshi possibly teleporting out of the way unexpectedly. The summon tile is also the only tile that Hideyoshi uses by itself.
Hideyoshi's attack combos are listed below. Hideyoshi will never do the same tile combination 2 times in a row.
- Origin + Swirl + Earth Impale
- Backward Charge + Mirror + Spear
- Swirl + Mirror + Swirl
- Dash + Bomb + Backward Charge
Chip damage is the best way to defeat Hideyoshi, as he rarely stays in one place for too long. Corner hugging is an extremely powerful tactic against Hideyoshi as most of his combinations involve either Back Charge or Mirror. This means that he will oftentimes also be in a corner, so he will teleport you to his position, leaving you unharmed from his attacks. This also means that ranged tiles will be the best against him, as he is oftentimes far away from the player. If he goes for his bomb combo, being in a corner will also help as the bomb will only hit 2 cells instead of 3, giving you more time to react to his next attack while you dodge the bomb. If a swirl attack will hit the corner (Likely caused by an enemy in the other corner), just walk to the cell right next to the corner which will allow you to dodge the attack.
Corrupted Hideyoshi
Corrupted Hideyoshi gains 2 more tile combinations, both of which are significantly more threatening than his normal combos. He also gains the Corrupted wave which he uses similarly to the summon tile. Aside from his new tiles and the fact that he can spawn Grapplers now, his behavior remains largely the same compared to his non-corrupted version.
Corrupted Hideyoshi's uses the same tile combinations shown above as well as two new ones shown below.
The curse combo isn't all that bad, although the player will need to make sure they don't get hit as to avoid taking x2 damage. The meteor hammer combo is much more dangerous as it can cover a large portion of the arena. Keep distance, hide behind enemies or push Hideyoshi away from you to dodge the attack. Aside from those two tiles combinations, the strategy to beat Corrupted Hideyoshi is nearly the same as his uncorrupted version.
